TRUTH IS STILL THE TRUTH

Truth is like water, dirty kills you, pure save's you.
In simple words, journalism is a work of collecting, writing and publishing news stories and articles in newspapers, magazines. But now the meaning of journalism has totally been changed with the development of technology. In today's world, a common man can become a journalist with smartphones. We have already seen incidents which are reported by a common man whether it is a terrorist attack or a bomb blast. Twitter provides information faster than BBC. We can say that for that moment, a man acts as a journalist. Journalism is a specialized profession like a lawyer, teacher. But there is the difference between these professions. Other professions provide solutions and the work of the journalist is to raise the question. He can question the government, society, judiciary. Any person, institute, which occupies power, its a duty of journalists to question him. That is why media is called as the fourth pillar of democracy. The level of democracy and freedom of the people is measured on the basis of freedom of the press.
In India, journalists played a very vital role in the freedom struggle. the leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai, all used journalism and press as a weapon against British Raj. This weapon helped them to raise the feeling of nationalism in the hearts of Indian people. But today the voice of people is manipulated and suppressed by the Government and cooperate houses with the weapon of law and money. They use the tool of propaganda and fake news, to brainwash the public and sift their mind from the real problem. It is a very difficult time for a journalist to show the truth with such a pressure on him. Many journalists lost their lives while reporting on a serious matter like government and co-operate houses corruption. But still, there is a hope that upcoming generations will fight against powerful and corrupts as our leaders did against British rule.  In the end, there is a quote of Mahatma Gandhi for our generations.
" MANY PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY IGNORANT PEOPLE, WANT TO PUNISH YOU FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH, FOR BEING CORRECT, FOR BEING YOU. NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR BEING CORRECT, OR FOR BEING YEARS AHEAD  OF YOUR TIME. IF YOU'RE RIGHT AND  YOU KNOW IT, SPEAK YOUR MIND. EVEN IF YOU ARE A MINORITY OF ONE, THE TRUTH IS STILL THE TRUTH."
